If you are in Sydney, you might have heard me on ABC702 radio for the last two weekends chatting with Simon Marnie about the Farm Gate Trail. I’ve been mentioning that Fair Food Week is just around the corner! It starts this Friday 16th October.
Running for nine days (cos who doesn’t want an extra two days to a week when the week is all about Fair Food?), it is a week of independently-organised events that come under the same banner to promote a fairer, healthier, more sustainable food system. It is coordinated by the Australian Food Sovereignty Alliance.
There are film screenings, permablitzes, community dinners, food forums, conferences and all manner of other community-organised events that you can participate in if you are keen to know more about the food you eat and how we can find a better way to provide healthy food for all.
I’m heading down to Melbourne to the Fair Food Convergence. Maybe I’ll see you there! If not, I hope you get a chance to check out some of the Fair Food Week events in your neck of the woods.
